Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) is the only public school district in Lincoln and is the second largest of Nebraska’s 596 school districts. LPS educates more than 32,100 students in 54 schools.
For more than 10 years, AMI Environmental has been providing asbestos-related services to the Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) system, with tasks ranging from project designs and work plan development for asbestos removal to compliance monitoring during asbestos abatement.
AMI has performed a full range of services for many LPS schools, beginning with the initial identification of asbestos containing materials to the development of operations and maintenance protocols. After quantifying the asbestos and designing plans for abatement, AMI has provided oversight for asbestos removal, including compliance monitoring and construction management services to ensure the asbestos is removed safely and completely, without exposing students and staff to hazardous materials.
AMI also completed three-year AHERA re-inspections for 30 elementary, nine middle schools, six high schools and a number of leased and support facilities within the LPS system.
