Project Summary:
For the past 18 years, AMI has been the “go-to” company for assisting Union Pacific Railroad with its envionmental issues and concerns. We have developed training programs, operations and maintenance plans and a multitude of other processes and policies used specifically for Union Pacific Railroad.

As part of our ongoing and extensive relationship with Union Pacific, AMI was tasked with performing surveys for approximately 950 buildings, ranging from 500 to 200,000 s.f., throughout the U.S. western region.

All surveys and reports had to be completed in an 11-month period. To accomplish this goal and meet the fast-track pace required, AMI developed teams of inspectors responsible for completing asbestos and lead surveys for each state. Other challenges for this project included coordinating with multiple building managers to gain access and conducting surveys in high traffic buildings. Following the completion of the assessments, AMI entered all of the information into a database that was specifically designed to support Union Pacific’s operations and maintenance projects.
